Directions from Stornoway to Crowlista
Take the A859 south out of Stornoway, turn right at Leurbost on a road which becomes the A858, and where there are tourist signs to Callanis. Cross the island, driving through through Achmor and Lochganavich. At Garynahine turn left on to the B8011, signposted to Uig and Bernera. Follow the road across the central moorland, over the bridge at the head of Little Loch Roag and continue along the fast new road through to Loch Chroistean where it becomes single track. Continue through Carishader to Miabhaig, where the road turns left up a narrow valley (created by sub glacier meltwaters) with crags and a small forest on the left side. At the top of the valley turn right at the bus shelter to Erista, Aird and Crowlista. Pass the row of houses at Erista, keeping to the right, and at the end of the village there is a left fork to Crowlista. Follow the road down to the sandy bay, and you will see the first few houses of Crowlista above you to the right. When you reach a road junction at the post box, turn right doubling back. Airebroc is the first large house on the right, with its byre next to the road.
